Spotify: Spotify at CES 2017

The brief

Spotify’s sales team needed a place to show potential brand partners what its listening data could do, then sit down and close. The space had to work as a guided demo and as a meeting room.

The build

Designed and built by SET Creative and BRDG. Guests walked into a tunnel of LED tubes that played a curated experience based on their own listening preferences. Directional audio kept the sound focused on where each person stood, and the lighting worked as a live visualizer. Demo stations and private meeting rooms sat beyond it.

The hard part

The experience depended on three vendors at once: creative tech, fabrication and AV. Each one’s work had to land before the next could start. I mapped the order of operations so the dependencies stayed in sync through install, and stayed on site through the show to keep the technology running.

Outcome

The space hosted Spotify’s B2B sales meetings, and multi-million-dollar partnerships were closed there.
