World Cup Boot Bus
A gutted double-decker tour bus rebuilt in two weeks as a mobile customization shop for Nike's World Cup events in New York.
The brief
Take Nike’s World Cup moment to fans across New York: a street-legal retail bus that could pull up to events around the city and let people customize jerseys with their names on the spot.
The build
We took a double-decker tour bus down to the shell and rebuilt it in two weeks. The fabrication vendor and I worked overnights to get it done: retail fixtures, a customization station, turf and a fully branded exterior.
The hard part
Turning a gutted tour bus into something street legal, safe and reliable on a two-week clock. It ran with a commercial driver, and its generator needed real work before it was dependable.
